Reunion - Events, Places, Times and Map to NDBS Village Hall

The reunion has been planned as an informal get-together to give Old Sedberghians an opportunity to get caught up with each other and to share that extraordinary adventure we all experienced at our school.

SATURDAY:

Late arrivals will find a large map at the station to direct them to the village hall of Notre Dame de Bon Secours. They will register at the village hall.

10am - Visit to Vipassana (please do not go earlier as they are in Retreat until that time).
Parking is in the Lower lot or on the old tennis courts. Visit the Valley, the huts, your favourite haunts, and the building. Talk with Vipassana staff, who are very interested in your stories of life at Sedbergh and will be pleased to tell you about the work they do.
Understandably, there may be areas where you are asked not to visit.
Please respect that. Remember, we are visitors in another man's house.

SHUTTLE BUS: The shuttle bus will transport anyone not wishing to drive to the Valley. The bus will stop at the Chateau Montebello and the station starting at 10am The last bus service to the Valley will be at 10:30am.

10:30am - The celebration of PAT PETTIGREW's life will begin in the Founders' Room (Sedbergh). Any Old Sedberghian wishing to participate in that celebration is very welcome to join the Pettigrew family.

12:00 Noon - The Lake is open. NO CARS PLEASE. The shuttle bus will transport people from the old tennis courts to the Lake starting at noon with 15 minute intervals. Last service at 1pm. The shuttle bus will transport people FROM the Lake TO the old tennis courts starting at 3pm. Last service at 3:30pm There is a WALKING PATH from the old tennis courts to the TOP of the Lake road for those who feel they would like some exercise.

THE LAKE: Ron Graham, the owner of the Lake, is determined that nothing will change during his tenure. He is delighted to open the gate for us. A barbecue awaits you, but nothing formal has been planned. Enjoy yourselves.

3pm - The shuttle bus will transport people to their cars at the old tennis courts, and will also transport people without cars to the village hall for the final event of the reunion. - the tree planting ceremony

3:30pm - The Tree Planting Ceremony. Native trees are being planted around the two Sedbergh huts which are newly sited near the village hall. These trees pay tribute to a few of the people who founded the dream, who continued the dream and whose loyalty and love believed in the dream.
They represent but a very few of us and it is planned that in the future other trees may be planted so that the huts become surrounded in a forest, much as they were at Sedbergh.

The reunion will end with the ringing of the Sedbergh bell, but we will NOT have to do "block"!!!

If you have questions, please ask them.

Best regards,

Tony
