Old Sedberghian Gathering Sept. 13/14 - #2

As promised, here is more information about the September 13/14 Old Sedberghian gathering.

While not yet written in stone, the weekend looks as follows:

Saturday, September 13th

Arrival, registration, class reunions all day. The first official gathering will begin at the Village Hall early Saturday evening (shuttle bus from Montebello accommodations) with a cocktail party (cash bar) and a communal dinner. Speeches of course,a short introduction to the celebration of Pat Pettigrew's life, and the formal inauguration of Salle Sedbergh. Possible auction of Sedbergh memorabilia. A dance to follow - live music - perhaps Old Sedberghian bands. A shuttle bus back and forth to Montebello accommodations.

Sunday, September 14th

Midmorning (10:00am) Arrival at Vipassana (Sedbergh) visits, conversations with Vipassana administrators, and for those who knew Pat Pettigrew, an informal get together on campus to celebrate his life.

12:30pm: A walk up to the Lake - no cars (a shuttle bus for those who need it) Barbecue and nostalgia.

3:00pm - Back to the Village Hall for tree planting ceremony. A tree for Pat and a tree for all of us. Other trees to be considered. These trees will be planted near the huts so that in years to come, those huts will become a part of the woods around them.

Farewell and departure.

There it is. In the next few days I will send out announcements about costs for the weekend. At that time, Net Directories ( email database) will carry the registration module and payment can be made through that module. A link to that module will be on the Sedbergh website and on the Sedbergh page of Facebook. The link will allow you to see who else is coming.

We are working with all the various hotels, inns, campsites, B and Bs in the area for price reductions on accommodation. That information will be forthcoming as soon as possible.

A reunion committee has been set up, made up of Old Sedberghians in the local area. We can always use more help, so anyone who wishes to give us a hand, please get in touch with me. Success is in the details,

Having said that, success really has to do with you. Your presence will make the weekend a success. Come and join us.

Questions? Ask me.

Best regards,

Tony
