As you go through them, you will follow the sequence of the weekend. That the gathering occurred 75 years almost to the day after the opening of the school in 1939 was coincidental, but certainly appropriate. Two hundred Sedberghians and past staff, their families and friends, joined us for what was, in spite of Dame Nature's windy and cold weather, a huge success. A return to Montebello, class reunions, cocktails and dinner followed by speeches and a dance on Saturday night carried us to Sunday morning and back to the Valley, into the school and around the property. A celebration of Pat Pettigrew's life in the Founders' Room was followed by a relaxing visit and barbecue at the Lake, that diamond in our crown! A couple even jumped off the cliff and one did the cross the lake swim! The water was not warm!

The gathering ended with a tree planting ceremony around the two oldest huts in the Valley which have been moved to their new home near the Salle Sedbergh at the village hall of Notre Dame de Bon Secours. The Sedbergh's school bell stands proudly on the roof of that building and was rung to close the reunion weekend. The original bell, which had melted and fallen through to the basement of the old school in the Great Fire now sits on a rock close to the front door of the village hall. The Sedbergh spirit lives on.

On another note, you may visit the Salle Sedbergh during opening hours of the village hall, or by special arrangements with the municipal staff. Make sure you telephone well ahead as the Salle Sedbergh is used as a meeting room by many organizations in the region. Call them at 819-423-5575 or visit their website at www.ndbonsecours.com
